Our clients wanted to open up their quaint kitchen space in their old farm cottage. The adjoining room had plenty of space to use but the very low ceiling and structural nibs made the original kitchen, even if opened through, a very claustrophobic space. By using a new steel and lifting it higher into the ceiling we managed to give them a seamless ceiling across the two rooms and at the same time opened up the nibs on both side, thus making the room feel far more cohesive. We opted to go for the classic Burbidge Lansdowne Natural Oak with this kitchen design so it was in keeping with other original features of this beautiful building.
