Burbidge: 2019 Kitchen Trends

Whether you plan to undertake a complete kitchen redesign or a simple storage update in 2019, here Joanne Emery, Burbidge Marketing Manager, shares her trend predictions for the year ahead:

“Unique and versatile finishes remain at the forefront of kitchen design and we expect to see increased interest in dark dramatic hues, offset by rich metallics and textural laminates. To meet this demand we have introduced a black marble, a brushed bronze and an oxide finish to our contemporary Otto collection. Homeowners are combining these new textures with concretes and woods to achieve an urban and industrial feel.

Multifunctional and hidden storage will be an essential feature for both compact and large kitchens in the coming year and the demand for bespoke storage is expected to rise.

In line with the desire for clutter-free kitchens, pretty and practical glass fronted dressers and cabinets are growing in popularity. These stylish solutions allow decorative items and crockery to be beautifully displayed behind glass; adding a visual and personal touch to a contemporary kitchen.

Customers are increasingly looking for simple, fuss free designs that are easy to clean and maintain such as handless slab style cabinetry.”
