Our client had moved to France, having bought an old farm house and barn. The kitchen is in the converted barn as the main house is not habitable so the room was fairly narrow and not too long so the main criteria in the brief was to increase the space and get more light into what was a fairly dark and miserable room. This was achieved by moving the wall to the utility further out creating a longer room and installing roof lights as this section of the house is only single storey. We chose the Erin range of kitchen doors as the client liked the painted oak finish and she had previously had a natural oak kitchen from Burbidge in her house in the UK. She opted for the French grey finish because its subtle colour matched well with the other finishes in the kitchen. The use of solid timber work surfaces co-ordinated beautifully with the timber finish of the mantel and plate rack features that were created in the design. Our client was really pleased with the results and has already refered us to other prospective clients in France.
